Reruns, Anyone?

  • It is the Eve of New Year’s Eve (December 30, 2021). As I watched a morning show interweave previous episodes, I noted that I had seen them and that they were feel good stories. As this title popped in my head, I remember reading a Football Bowl article and each one offered “Why You Should Watch”. I only read a few but a couple mentioned traditional Christmas stories and the writer said who needs to watch this again?  You had to read the show references to get the humor.
  • What does this say about you?  Some of us like a pattern of tradition and falling into a rerun where you don’t have to think about it. Maybe there is more to the story such as what was the feel-good take away we should aspire to everyday not just in the month of December.
  • Then there are those reminders to make New Year’s resolutions. Have you read the statistics that many fall off the wagon before the month is over?  Yes, perhaps some of the proposed 2022 gadgets and improvements might be helpful. But I have noted some are going back to yesteryear for taking that next step.
  • My sister and I started a Sisters/Sistahs Divas, Diamonds and Dollars podcast this year. The intent is to speak to all women about self-care, finances, career, diversity, and inclusion (because we all have unique abilities that we can bring together for better communities) and we are learning and promoting the need to share and pay it forward.
  • I have learned to share more by writing what I care about that I hope will advance the well-being of others. Back to the title; what about me?  I very seldom watch reruns or reread a book (except for the Bible because there are always new nuggets as you mature in wisdom). I don’t chase the next shiny new object.  Time flies whether you are having fun or not. Can you remember everything you decided to do this year and did not?  I looked back to October which is the last blog I wrote.  I am going to build on four pillars next year.  Check Out Blog. You don’t have to do something new. You can refine or toss that which is not helpful or beneficial to you, personally or financially or professionally.  Or you can watch your rerun and see if you want to pursue the same show or venture out into life with a desire to create another side of you learned about yourself this year.
