How’d You Do?

How’d You Do?

One of my You Tube exercise leaders gives instructions and demonstrates all of the routines and afterwards he always asks, “How’d You Do?”  The question has made me go back and reflect on whether I gave it my ‘all and all’ or did I just step through the motions.  It might seem somewhat strange if someone asked you that but that is the question on the table. Many have commented on how fast this year was, including me and you could be asking yourself, “How did I do this year”?

Do you tend to worry, or do you prepare an action plan and actually follow it? One can find statistics for both types of people. If you listen to the various media most people fall into the first question category.  But as the end of 2022 ends, we survived the gloom and doom.  A lot of money was poured into election races all for naught. Why? Because we can only control so many outcomes.

When 2022 started few of us thought we would see full blown inflation or deficit stock markets. Why not? That is for you to ponder.  A recession is considered highly likely next year. How will you prepare?  Yes, there are things in your control that you can do to ease any impacts.

If you were blessed to travel anywhere you dreaded the long lines, potential lost bags or even missed connections. I did too and I was one of those “missed connections casualty” caused by something airline related. All I know was a lot of finger-pointing occurred and ultimately it didn’t matter.  I just needed to find a comfortable bed (hotel) to sleep in.

Thanksgiving came and went and many of us complained about how high food prices were, but we bought it anyway and we ate plenty because after all it was about seeing our families and laughter at being free to gather.

My daughter shared a personal year recap in her Christmas card which talked to those who are brokenhearted.  But I know many are like her who persevere through many storms, and they come out wiser and stronger for it.  For those who experienced deaths or are dealing with anxiety, perhaps you aren’t ready to answer this question.  My personal view of what I have seen or heard is that others have fallen away from God and been left without a lifeline.

My approach to “How’d I do” is knowing there will be “Life Happens” circumstances.  My belief system, which is knowing God sustains me, has allowed me to have a wonderful year, all while honoring my wants and needs and helping others be their authentic self.  My prayer is that you can look back and say “I made it through” and that you are looking forward to 2023.

Joy, Peace, Love!  May we help others we meet feel/find the same.
