How did your year start? Typically, I start the year with leveling up with renewal, refocus, and reorientating myself after the holidays. Already I have been thrust into protecting my reflections, getting proper rest and rejuvenation and recalibration by resisting distractions. What are you focusing on these days?
So much of my “Thought Content” this year has gone out virally via text. My focus is helping others stand firm in the midst of chaos. I can be positive and at peace because I am dealing only with what I can control. Humans are not infallible and therefore promises from them often have holes or are influenced by the wrong motives. The older I get the more I understand how people’s external conditions, what and who they listen to, yields abnormal thought, anxiety, false narratives, and mayhem for others. When the opportunity rises, I listen to understand beliefs not like mine and I learn something about why they think the way they do.
Sometimes we laugh at what is not funny because it is so incredulous that you can’t give words to what you see, you can only shake your head. I wonder about the loss of integrity and people not caring about anyone but themselves and their money tree.
So far I still have freedom of speech. I don’t believe everything is expedient to say or do. I believe people in leadership should represent all people and treat everyone with dignity. Because of this, I am determined to walk and talk my faith. I continue to share beneficial and helpful information with everyone, through the weekly podcast with my sister. I don’t need to hide because my intent and effort is to honor the Creator God. As a woman of God, who happens to be black, and steeped in a rich history, and being a part of a community that continues to contribute to America, I decided not to do my traditional Black History Month article. There is plenty out there if you want to know and learn.
Below is a link, compliments of Sinclair Community College, that you can check out some short videos. I leave you with a cartoon, some pictures from a Sinclair and my book signing, and words that promote our journey and purpose.
